Guru concert in San Francisco

Alright, this concert is really worthy being blogged. I really enjoyed the evening and was really impressed by the relaxed atmosphere of the club. Actually this is the first club I have been, which has only one (!) toilet for all guests... However the reddevillounge is a great place. Before Guru there have been two other bands. The first was a relaxed hipHop band, which remind me of Ugly duckling. But I think they are just starting their business... Actually nobody knew the name of the band... I they were called P.E. As the second band a prototype of a nowadays rap band played some tunes. One rapper, lots of people, one back-up MC and one crunk guy who was really crazy... They did a good show and I enjoyed this crunk style, which I only saw on TV by now... Especially this guy only jumping on the the stage was fun! The audience was not really interested in their show...

Afterwards Guru showed up with DJ legend DooWhoop and Solar (producer of the new Jazzmatazz release). He played all my favs (Full clip, royalty, skillz, Rite where you stand...). I really had much fun. Unfortunately I have the feeling, that Guru has big problems to continue his work as a single artist on the high level of Gangstarr. Only the Gangstarr tracks were ass kicking and made the crowd jumping...

Whatever, the concert was great and I had lots of fun in Frisco!

Defari in Germany

Second post. A concert, I recently saw in Muenster. Defari member of the likwit junkies. A big hero of mine, seriously. He had until now two records, the first I really loved. It's probably of 1999 and named focused daily. I was curious seeing him and had strange feelings if I would get disappointed, because he had also a second album :)

However the show was good, he played most of my faves and also some tracks of the collaboration album with DJ Babu. It seems to be quiet like a tradition to have a drinking contest as well as some promotional statements about his current mixtape and his new album. I did not bought one of them, but a t-shirt. Quiet strange, my first t-shirt I bought on a concert... I think I will do that more often... I am glad that he did not put his myspace URL on the t-shirt, which defari often mentioned... So if you would like to have a check... www.myspace.com/defari

So overall a good concerts, was quiet full. I actually escaped right after the show, because I came alone. My first concert, which I went alone... also a strange feeling, but this was the best way to spend the evening... I can tell you. Next concerts: KRS-One, UB-40 (I have tickets for Enschede, I am really not sure, if it will be a good one... but it will BIG because sold-out).
